The national authority in Hong Kong is the Office of the Communications Authority (OFCA). There are two procedures for obtaining country-specific approval:
- VCS = Voluntary Certification Scheme: the manufacturer should demonstrate its compliance to the relevant HKCA/HKTA standard based on the European standards and the FCC documentation. We at IB-Lenhardt support you with the preparation of a self-declaration by the manufacturer.
- CCS = Compulsory Certification Scheme devices need complete type approval before it can be used in Hong Kong. The equipment which has been evaluated to be in compliance with the relevant technical specification may be granted a certificate by a Certification Body and the relevant information about the certified equipment together with the certification number assigned by a CB to the equipment will be published under the list of authority’s website.
We are supported by a local partner who directly cooperates with a recognized Certification Body (CB). The product labeling according to the OFCA requirements is voluntary. Please contact us if you have any questions about specific equipment and the corresponding compliance requirements.
